The Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care is the minimum qualification to begin working in the sector. This course builds practical skills and
knowledge to help you turn your passion for supporting children into a rewarding career.

PRACTICAL PLACEMENT & SELF-DIRECTED LEARNING
This course has a mandatory 160 hours of practical placement requirement.
This course includes with a minimum of prescribed self-directed learning each week.
ASSESSMENT TYPES
Learners are assessed via a range of assessment types.
These include: observations, questioning & assessment done during practical placement.
Note – to complete the certificate, students must complete all of the course units.
WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK
All students over the age of 18 will be required to obtain a volunteer Working With Children Check.
VETDSS
PRE-TRAINING REVIEW
Suitability for this course is confirmed by the students home school as part of the school‑based VETDSS process. A separate pre‑training interview with Foundation Learning Centre is not required.

This course is delivered over the course of 2 school years, 1 day per week and includes a minimum of 160 hours of practical placement.

This course is delivered from our CASEY CAMPUS, as well as from local secondary schools.
